Nairobi - Hells Gate National Park
Depart Nairobi at 0800 hrs We will start our Drive early on the
Nairobi-Nakuru Highway,and Branch to Mai Mahiu Road and a stop
over at viewpoint
Hell’s Gate can be accessed through two main gates: the
main Elsa Gate and the Olkaria Gate. The latter also
serves the Olkaria Geothermal Station that is located
inside the National Park
Hell’s Gate National Park covers an area of 68.25 square
km and is situated in the environs of Lake Naivasha
about 90 km from Nairobi. The park is 14 km after the
turnoff from the old Nairobi-Naivasha highway.
It is characterized by diverse topography and geological
scenery. It is an important home of the lammergeyer (The
Bearded Vulture).

Hiking Mt Longonot � Day Trip from Nairobi Nairobi -

Mount Longonot is a stratovolcano that overlooks Lake
Naivasha. The mountain has lava canyons on its steep slopes and
a caldera that is over one kilometre wide. Walk around the
caldera. The view from Mt Longonot�s caldera is simply stunning.
It is also a national park, meaning you could see some wildlife,
though not the Big 5.
Mount Longonoto is one of Kenya�s most popular hiking
destinations. This adventure hiking to Mt Longonot offer you a
day out of Nairobi. One the way, you will enjoy the scenic views
for the Great Rift Valley. On the hike itself, enjoy the walk
with possibility of sighting wild animals too � small mammals
and birds. There are animals like Giraffe, warthogs, Zebra and
many antelopes.
The Road trip from Nairobi to Mount Longonot makes sightseeing
easy from the car with several view points on the escarpment. As
you ascend and descent, on the meandering road to Mount Longonot
from Nairobi, the sight of the mountain can be intimidating
enough to deter many would-be hikers. However, the hike to Mount
Longonot really does offer something for everyone.
Requirements for the hiking safari to Mount Longonot.
Though the hiking is long and moderately difficult, so here you
need to pack the light clothes. You will need to pack water (its
recommended to carry a reusable bottle with you as plastic
bottles are not allowed within the National park) and you need
to pack the energy inducing fruits and snacks, before anything
you also need to pack according to the weather conditions. A
hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are essential for the warmer
temperatures and arain coat may come in handy depending on the
period of time you have visit.
