GENERAL CAR HIRE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Terms and Conditions
for Kenya Car Hire
Rates subject to terms and conditions of our
car hire contract
Theft Protection
Insurance : [ TPW ]
The Hirer's liability for theft of the
vehicle is automatically covered subject to the terms and conditions
of the car hire contract
Collision Damage
Waiver : [CDW ]
The Hirer's liability for damage to the
vehicle is automatically covered subject to the terms and conditions
of the car hire contract. Damage to tyres, windscreen and underneath
of the vehicle is not covered.
Excess Liability Waiver: [ ELW ]
Excess waiver is available for certain
vehicles. This insurance cover protects the hirer/driver of having to
pay any excess fees brought about by damage and /or loss to the
vehicle.
Excess
Deposit:US$1000
This is a fully refundable deposit which
covers any damage to the hired vehicle during the period of hire. The
hirer will be refunded the full excess deposit in cash upon return of
the vehicle in the same condition as collected at the commencement of
the hire.
Rental Conditions:
In order to hire a vehicle, you must be
between ages of 23 and 70 years of age and be a holder of a valid
international driver's permit for the past 2 years and have no
endorsements.
A copy of your
passport, driving license, full contact details and a full advance
payment for the period of hire will be required before or on
collection of vehicle. Additional cash deposit may be required under
certain special circumstances.
CAR HIRE AGREEMENT
Self drive cars are hired subject to the company's standard form of
agreement. Nairobi Car Hire Services reserves the right to refuse a
hirer at anytime without giving any reasons.
DRIVER�S LICENCE/DRIVER(Self Drive)
The hirer and/or authorized driver must have held a full and valid
driving license for a minimum
of 2 years up to and including the time of hire and that license
must bear no current endorsements
during the last two years. A driving license from the country of
residence or an International
Driver�s Permit is generally acceptable, provided valid as above.
The hirer and/or authorized driver must be over 23 years of age and
under 70 years of age. The
hirer and/or authorized driver must also be able to provide proper
means of identification other than a driver�s license.
CHAUFFEUR DRIVEN
Applicable during working hours (0700 - 1800 hours). Drivers
overtime charges after 1800 hours is US$ 5 per hour.
SECURITY
The hirer should ensure that the hire vehicle is locked when
unattended. The vehicle must not be parked in a public area for long
periods.
When CDW (Collusion Damage waiver) or TPI (Theft Protection
Insurance) is declined, the renters financial responsibility will be
the full value of the damage to the vehicle and loss related
expenses: regardless of fault. If CDW is accepted the renters
responsibility (Non waiver responsibility) will be US$ 1000.
For security reasons Nairobi Car Hire Services does not allow its
cars to be driven to North Eastern region of Garisa and Maralal. In
case there is an urgent need for such a journey, Nairobi Car Hire
Services
should be informed before hand to seek police escort at an extra
fees which the hirer will bear.
Reservations confirmed and pre-paid on-line
Unless you have cancelled your reservation in accordance with the
above terms, if you do not collect your vehicle at the time
specified on the prepaid rental voucher, no refund will be made. We
will, however, hold your rental vehicle available for you for 4
working hours after the time of the reservation.
Reservations confirmed on-line but paid on pick up
No charge will be made for failing to pick up your rental vehicle if
you have not prepaid for your hire.
Reservations confirmed on-line or off-line
If you do not arrive to collect your vehicle at the time specified
in the Reservation confirmation, and you do not inform us that you
are canceling your hire as above, we may charge your credit or debit
card in accordance with the agreement made at the time of
confirmation, subject to a maximum amount equal to the value of the
hire.
Vehicles images
Vehicle images are examples only. Specific models cannot be
guaranteed.
Driver Age
All drivers must be aged between 25 and 75 years inclusive. Drivers
aged 21 - 24 years may only rent cars up to Standard category,
Economy and Short Wheel Base Vans. A daily charge (incl VAT) applies
to drivers aged 21 - 24 and 70-75 inclusive. Drivers aged 21 - 24
years must hold a full driving licence for a minimum of 24 months
which is free of current endorsements. Drivers must be aged 30 to 75
to rent a prestige,luxury or Porsche vehicle and have a licence for
at least 24 months that is free of current endorsements.
Damage Liability Insurance
Damage liability insurance is subject to a damage liability which
varies according to vehicle size. Damage liability reduction is
available at for an additional cost but is not available to drivers
aged 21 - 24 or 70 - 75. Please note Glass and Tyre cover is not
available for Luxury or Porsche rentals. Glass and tyre cover
(excluding prestige, luxury and Porsche) is charged. Damage
liability waiver may be withdrawn at any time (for example, due to
extreme weather conditions) at the discretion of the Elite Car
Rental Management.
Fuel Policy
All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel at the start of
the hire. Customers may:- purchase this tank of fuel at a discounted
rate and return the vehicle empty, or return the vehicle full at the
end of the rental, or return the vehicle part full and be charged
for missing fuel at the end of the rental at the locally determined
price. Please note a surcharge will be applied for this facility
Bus Hire Booking Terms
Quotations
Quotations are given on the basis of the direct route and on
information provided by the hirer. The route used will be at the
discretion of the company unless it has been particularly specified
by the hirer in which case it will be clearly shown on the
confirmation. All quotations are given subject to the company having
available a suitable vehicle at the time the hirer accepts the
quotation. Any additional charges will be separately identified and
will be the hirer�s responsibility unless otherwise specified.
Seating Capacity
The company will, at the time of booking, agree and specify the
legal seating capacity of the vehicle to be supplied. The hirer must
not load the vehicle beyond this capacity.
CROSSING BORDERS
Written authorization should be obtained from Nairobi Car Hire
Services
should the hirer wish to cross a state border. Our rental vehicles
will be allowed into Tanzania and Uganda. Nairobi Car Hire Services
will not accept any responsibility if the hirer is refused entry
into another country.
A cross border insurance fees is applicable and the fee depends on
the number of travelers accompanying the hirer.
For cross border formalities to be arranged Nairobi Car Hire
Services
should be informed at least 48hrs before the day of crossing the
border.
Any other cross border charges are payable directly at the border.
